Fort Bend ISD Board Meetings
Fort Bend ISD Board Agenda Review Workshop Meetings will generally take place the second Monday of the month to discuss all items that will be considered as part of the agenda at a Regular Business Meeting on the third Monday of the month. The meetings are held in the Board Room of the FBISD Administration Building, 16431 Lexington Blvd., in Sugar Land. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. with Board Recognitions and other Special Meetings that are open to the public. The Board Regular Business Meetings begin at 6 p.m. Called Meetings are scheduled on an as-needed basis, although Texas law does allow the Board to call an emergency meeting in a crisis situation.
In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Board has the privilege to meet privately in closed session to discuss matters related to personnel, student discipline, security, land acquisition or to consult with legal counsel. No action, however, may be taken during a closed session.
For safety and security purposes, a clear bag policy is in place for all Board Meetings.

Addressing the Board
Beginning July 2026, Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD) will have a new sign-up deadline for individuals who wish to speak during the public comment portion of workshop and Regular Board Meetings. Individuals who wish to address the Board must now submit their request to speak by 12 p.m. (Noon) on the day of the meeting. Previously, the deadline to submit a request to speak was 4:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
On June 15, the FBISD Board of Trustees approved updates to Policy BED (Local), which governs public participation at Board Meetings. The change is intended to provide additional time for staff to process speaker requests, prepare meeting materials and ensure an orderly and efficient public comment process.
Fort Bend ISD remains committed to transparency, public engagement and providing community members with opportunities to share their input with the Board of Trustees. Community members planning to speak at an upcoming FBISD Board meeting are encouraged to review all public comment procedures in advance and submit their request by the new noon deadline.
At meetings other than Regular Business Meetings, public comments are limited to items on the posted meeting notice and agenda. At Regular Business meetings, comments on other topics are permitted.

To address the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees at a Board Meeting:
- Complete and submit the ADDRESS THE BOARD MEETING FORM below no later than 12:00pm on the day of the Board Meeting.
- OR, come, in person, to the FBISD Administration Building at 16431 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land, Texas, 77479 no later than 12:00 p.m. the day of the Board Meeting to complete a paper form.
