Board Committees

The Audit Committee is composed of up to 3 Trustees for the purpose of overseeing the district’s internal audit function and the annual financial audit. The committee meets on a monthly as needed basis.

The Calendar Committee is composed of 1 Trustee to provide input on the creation of the district’s calendar. The committee has two meetings a year and one additional meeting if needed.

The Communications Liaison is composed of 1 Trustee who serves as a representative of the Board regarding communication matters and internal communication to the Board, data security issues, and provide input to staff. The number of meetings is on a as needed basis.

The Governance Committee is composed of up to 3 Trustees for the purpose of overseeing matters regarding Board Governance such as: periodic revision of the Board Operating Procedures, recommending appointment of Board Counsel, and facilitation of the Board Leadership Academy. Periodic revision to the superintendent evaluation instrument and board self-evaluation instrument. This committee meets on a monthly as needed basis.

The Naming Committee is composed of community members, District staff, students, and designated Trustees for the purpose of recommending school facility names to the Board for approval.  This committee meets on an as needed basis.

The Policy Committee is composed of up to 3 Trustees for the purpose of drafting and ensuring implementation of district policies. This committee meets on a monthly basis.

The Safety & Security Liaison is composed of the Board President and 1 Trustee who serves as a liaison to keep updated with status of District safety and security measures and initiatives.  This committee meetsmeets quarterly.

Administrator:  Anthony Sanders, Chief of Police

The Student Achievement Committee is composed of up to 3 Trustees for the purpose of board oversight of the Student Achievement in FBISD including the student support, staffing, interventions, district planning and state metrics as they relate to district and campus ratings. The board intends for this committee to oversee implementation and progress of district plans and support district improvement in this area.  This committee meets on an as needed basis.

The Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is an advisory group composed of parents, community members, District staff and designated Trustees for the purpose of coordinating community and District efforts to improve the health of all students and families. This council has six meetings a year, once every other month.

The Vision & Planning Committee is composed of up to 3 Trustees for the purpose of facilitating planning, drafting and implementing Board priorities, Core Beliefs and Commitments, and Goals and Objectives. This committe meets on an as needed basis.
