Two FBISD Elementary Schools Earn Statewide Student Leadership Honors

Highlands and Oyster Creek elementary schools were recognized by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) with the 2025-26 Student Leadership Award. The award recognizes PK-8 student leadership teams that demonstrate outstanding service and leadership through initiatives that strengthen school culture and support their communities.

FORT BEND ISD (May 19, 2026) – Highlands and Oyster Creek elementary schools were recognized by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) with the 2025-26 Student Leadership Award. The award recognizes PK-8 student leadership teams that demonstrate outstanding service and leadership through initiatives that strengthen school culture and support their communities.

Projects led by students included literacy programs, kindness campaigns, mentorship opportunities, school spirit initiatives and service projects benefiting local families and organizations.

The school leadership teams will be recognized during TEPSA Student Leadership Workshops this fall.

Founded in 1917, TEPSA serves more than 6,000 PK-8 school leaders across Texas and has trained more than 40,000 students through its Student Leadership Workshops since 1999.
