Purchase laptop insurance to cover accidental damage, loss or theft

Fort Bend ISD is excited to continue offering the Equipped 1:1 laptop program for all secondary students during the 2026-27 school year, which provides every student with a personal device they can use during class and at home and aligns with our district’s goal to provide equitable learning opportunities for all students.  

The district offers laptop insurance to cover accidental damage, loss or theft. It is strongly encouraged that families purchase this coverage. The cost of the insurance is $35 for the school year, with discounted rates and waived fees for those who qualify.  

COVERAGE DETAILS  
FBISD insurance includes:  

• Up to two repairs per year – Covered at 100%  
• One total loss per year (lost, stolen or unrepairable device) – Covered at 100% after a $150 deductible
• Insurance must be purchased annually — coverage does not automatically renew or carry over from a previous school year.

Laptop insurance may be purchased on RevTrak. Parents and guardians may pay in installments, but the insurance will not be active until the payments are complete.

In alignment with the district’s Collections Handbook, FBISD requires prompt payment for all fees and fines—including library, textbook, laptop, and extracurricular dues—which may be submitted to a collection agency if unpaid. Outstanding balances can also restrict student participation in extracurricular activities and exam exemptions.
