Neill Elementary Yearbook Spread Tells a First-Place Story

FORT BEND ISD (June 23, 2026) – At first glance, the page is bright, colorful and full of student smiles. But look a little closer, and James C. Neill Elementary’s award-winning yearbook design tells a bigger story about connection, pride and the moments that make the campus feel like home. 

Neill Elementary was named the grand prize winner in the K-8 Spread Winners category of the 2026 Treering Yearbook Design Contest for its spread, “All Things Herd and P.R.I.D.E.,” which highlights the campus P.R.I.D.E. values: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Excellence. The entry was selected from more than 1,000 entries submitted by parents and school leaders and judged on design quality, storytelling, visual impact and relevance to content. 

The winning spread was created by parent volunteer Jennifer Griffiths, a Neill mom who spent countless hours helping capture the school year for students and families. Her work highlighted the campus Herd System, where students are grouped into “Herds” to build connections across grade levels and encourage positive behavior. 

Through photos, thoughtful copy and playful details, Griffiths helped families see Neill’s P.R.I.D.E. values, student recognitions and special traditions that families may not always get to see during the school day. 

Judges praised the yearbook page for its strong design, clear storytelling and age-appropriate tone. For Neill, the recognition is more than a design award. It is a celebration of creativity, campus pride, and a parent volunteer’s commitment to preserving memories for students and families.
