Fort Bend ISD Communications Team Earns National Awards for Excellence in School Communications
Fort Bend ISD's Communications Department received national recognition from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) in its annual Publication and Digital Media Excellence Awards program.
FORT BEND ISD (June 16, 2026) – Fort Bend ISD's Communications Department received national recognition from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) in its annual Publication and Digital Media Excellence Awards program.
The department earned honors for outstanding work in video production and writing, including several Awards of Excellence, the highest recognition presented in the competition.
Fort Bend ISD received Awards of Excellence for the following projects:
Video
- Faces of Fort Bend ISD: Katt Boyd's Resilience — Produced by Maria DiPetta, Director of Strategic Multimedia Communication; Michael Lam and Leopoldo Gonzalez, Multimedia and Video Coordinators.
- Faces of Fort Bend ISD: On Team Bella — Produced by Maria DiPetta, Director of Strategic Multimedia Communication; Michael Lam and Leopoldo Gonzalez, Multimedia and Video Coordinators.
Writing
- From FBISD Graduate to Successful Surgeon — Written by Tonya Thomas, Communications Coordinator.

In addition, the department earned an Award of Merit for:

Each year, NSPRA recognizes communications teams around the nation whose efforts and expertise have had a positive and lasting impact on school public relations and education as well as honors the best work in school communication.
