FBISD Receives National Music Education Honor for 20th Time

Fort Bend ISD has been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education, marking the 20th time the district has received the distinction.

FORT BEND ISD (May 15, 2026) – Fort Bend ISD has been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education, marking the 20th time the district has received the distinction.

The national designation is awarded annually by The NAMM Foundation, the charitable arm of the National Association of Music Merchants, to honor school districts that demonstrate exceptional achievement in providing music learning opportunities for all students.

“The Performing Arts are an essential component of every FBISD child’s well-rounded education,” FBISD Director of Fine Arts James Drew said. “Now more than ever, students need the opportunities afforded by our district’s music programs to unite them in a common purpose and offer them a creative outlet.”

Recipients are selected through a rigorous review process evaluating funding, participation, instruction, facilities and community support.
