First Year Teacher Support: TAPP Program

Year one is exciting and hard. The Teachers Advancing Professional Practice (TAPP) Program is the support systems that carries you through it.
What You Can Expect
Zero-Year Academy and Mentee Learning
- Understand what TAPP ask of you and what it gives back
- TAPP learning sessions scheduled throughout the year, aligned to what first-year teachers actually need, when you need it
- End-of-Year celebration with your cohort
Year-Long Mentor Support
- A trained, experienced FBISD educator matched to you for the full school year
- 12 hours of mentorship provided each semester
- Confidential support for classroom challenges, campus culture, and the emotional realities of year one
- Mentors are not evaluators and conversations stay between you and your mentor
District-Level Support
New teachers may be assigned a district-level support personnel who will provide coaching aligned to T-TESS. Coaching will consist of engaging in classroom observations, reflective feedback, and next steps.
