Students must return their district-issued laptop and all assigned accessories when they withdraw from FBISD, graduate, transfer to another district, or are otherwise directed to return the equipment.
⛔ Failure to Return District Equipment
If the laptop is not returned:
- The device may be reported as missing or unreturned.
- The full laptop replacement fee of up to $560 may be assessed to the student’s account.
- Additional fees may apply for missing assigned accessories.
- Insurance does not cover failure to return district-issued equipment.
- For withdrawing students, records or transcripts may be withheld until all district-issued equipment is returned or the outstanding balance is resolved.
- For graduating seniors, unresolved fines or unreturned equipment may result in the diploma being withheld.
➤ Returning the Laptop After a Fee Is Assessed
If the laptop is later located, it should be returned promptly to the campus or designated FBISD Technology location. The device will be inspected, and any assessed fee may be reviewed based on its return status and condition.
Important Fee Review Information
Returning the laptop does not automatically remove charges for missing accessories or damage identified during inspection. All fee adjustments are subject to district review and device records.
