No. There is no cost for an eligible student to receive a district-issued EquippED laptop, charger, and protective case. However, the equipment remains the property of Fort Bend ISD, and the assigned student is responsible for its care, security, and proper use.
➤ When Fees May Apply
Fees may be assessed when the laptop or its accessories are lost, stolen, damaged, misused, or not returned when required.
This may include charges for the laptop, screen, keyboard, chassis, charger, protective case, or other assigned equipment.
Optional Laptop Insurance
Families may purchase optional laptop insurance to help reduce eligible repair or replacement costs. Insurance must be purchased and active before the incident occurs.
Coverage is subject to the terms, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and incident allowances of the applicable insurance plan. Intentional damage, cosmetic damage, pre-existing damage, and other excluded incidents are not covered.
➤ What Are the Consequences of Outstanding Technology Fees?
Parents and students are responsible for resolving technology-related fees assessed for lost, stolen, damaged, or unreturned district equipment and completing payment through the district’s approved RevTrak payment system.
Outstanding Technology Fees May Result In
Loss of final-exam exemption eligibility.
Withholding of transcripts.
Suspension or loss of campus parking permits.
Restrictions on dance tickets, field trips, extracurricular programs, or activities.
Graduating seniors may have transcripts withheld until outstanding fees are resolved.
Additional district action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and applicable district procedures.
➤ Student Records, Collections, and Payment Plans
Unpaid fines remain on the student’s record throughout high school until resolved. All unreconciled and unpaid fine records may be referred to a collection agency.
Approved Installment Plans: Accounts on an approved RevTrak installment plan will not be referred to collections as long as consistent payments are being made.
Family Support
Our goal is to work with families to identify a reasonable solution. Families with questions or concerns should contact the student’s campus before the payment deadline.
