If you have been notified of a fee assessment for laptop damage or loss, you can pay the fee in RevTrack (the FBISD online payment system).

There is no cost to be issued an EquippED laptop; however, students are responsible for the care and protection of the computer. If the laptop is lost, stolen, or damaged, the student will be charged a fee. If the student has purchased the optional insurance plan before the loss or damage, then that can be used to cover the loss or damage according to the terms of the policy.

✅ Yes. Students who enroll in FBISD after August 25, 2026, may purchase optional laptop insurance within 14 days of enrollment.  When a newly enrolled student is issued their laptop, they will receive information about the optional insurance program.

If a new student wishes to purchase the insurance after the two-week period, they will need to follow the “Late Insurance Purchase” process.

✅ Yes. Students may purchase optional laptop insurance after the Open Enrollment deadline, August 25, 2026. Before coverage is activated, Technology staff must inspect the laptop for any pre-existing damage.

After purchasing “Late Insurance” in RevTrack, you will receive an email with instructions on how to obtain a laptop inspection.

IMPORTANT

Insurance will not be activated until the laptop is inspected by FBISD Technology. Pre-existing damage is not covered.

Please bring the laptop to the campus EquippED support location, typically located in the library. After the inspection, the results and insurance activation confirmation will be sent to the student’s district email.

*Insurance coverage will remain in Pending status until the laptop inspection is completed.
