Parent Advisory Committee (GTPAC)

What is the purpose of the Gifted and Talented Parent Advisory Committee

(GTPAC)?

The GTPAC members serve as liaisons between the GTPAC and their school community.  Parent representatives are invited to attend monthly GTPAC meetings and share Gifted and Talented program news with their school communities.  Parent representatives are encouraged to provide feedback to the committee from their school communities. 

Who is on the GTPAC?

 The Gifted and Talented Parent Advisory Committee (GTPAC) is composed of Fort Bend ISD parents who support and advocate for the district's Gifted and Talented (GT) program. The committee strives to include at least one parent representative from each Fort Bend ISD campus.

GTPAC members collaborate with the Fort Bend ISD Gifted and Talented Department, campus administrators, and GT educators to stay informed about district initiatives, ask questions, and provide meaningful feedback on Gifted and Talented programming. Through this partnership, the committee helps strengthen communication between families and the district while supporting continuous improvement of GT services for students.

How may I volunteer to represent my child(ren)'s school?

Parents may self-nominate to serve on the GT Parent Advisory Committee (GTPAC) by completing an online application.  Each campus may have a maximum of three parent representatives on the committee.  If more than three parents submit applications, representatives will be selected via a lottery. How may I ask questions or submit concerns to the GT PAC?

Questions and concerns from the campus GT community will need to be e-mailed to the campus COGS (Champions of Gifted Services) at least three (3) days prior to the next scheduled meeting so the campus COGS may submit it to the parent representative.  Please go to the Campus COGS Search to locate the name and e-mail address of your campus COGS.
