Spring Break & Summer Camps

Explore Houston is an excursion program that provides students with an opportunity to embark on a journey to the most exciting destinations around the greater Houston area. Through a variety of educational, cultural, recreational, and hands-on experiences, students engage with different settings and experiences. Each day brings a new adventure, allowing students to broaden their perspectives and create lasting memories. All district and non-district students in grades 2-7 are welcome.

Spring Break Excursion Dates: March 8-12, 2027.

Families can register for spring break excursions beginning in January. 

How to Register

Registration for Explore Houston is available online through Eleyo, our registration system. Parents will first create an account using their own information. After the account setup is complete, they will add their children and other family members. Once the account is established, parents can select their preferred campus and enroll their child.

Families are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.

Tuition

Community Education is self-supporting, meaning tuition revenue directly supports and sustains program offerings. Tuition fees cover the excursion, lunch, snacks, and must be paid in advance at the time of registration.

Refunds

Community Education is funded solely from tuition. Expenses for the vendor are set once the excursion has made the minimum enrollment or is in progress. Therefore, refunds will only be issued as follows:

• For excursions cancelled by Community Education due to low enrollment, 100% of the tuition paid will be refunded.
• If a request for a refund is made ten business days prior to the start of the excursion, 100 & of tuition paid will be refunded and a processing fee of $10 will be added.
• If a request for a refund is made five business days prior to the start date of the excursion, a 50% refund of tuition paid will be issued and a processing fee of $10 will be added.
• Refunds will not be issued if requests are made less than five business days or once the excursion begins.

Camp BLAST will be held at four campuses. Enrollment is open to any campus, regardless of home school.  The program is for FBISD and non-district students entering PreK through exiting 5^th grade.  The grade level is based on what grade students completed in 2025-2026.

Location Details

• The grade level is based on what grade students completed in 2025-2026.
• Enrollment is open to any campus, regardless of home school.
• PreK students must turn 4 years old by September 1 and have a basic level of self-care.
• Camp BLAST is open to students that do not attend a FBISD school.  A copy of the student's current immunization record will need to be submitted to the campus Site Coordinator before the start of summer.  This includes Pre-K students.  
• If your desired campus has reached capacity, you will be placed on a waiting list for that campus.
• Each week will consist of a field trip or onsite event, daily lunch, sports, games, hands-on activities, and so much more!

Priority registration will open for current families at 9:00am on Wednesday, March 11. General registration will open on Friday, March 13 at 12:00pm, and will be based on campus availability at that time. Registration will remain open for the duration of the summer. 

• Click here to register in Eleyo. Go to "Spring Break and Summer Camps", and then choose "Camp BLAST" (Grades PreK - 5). 
• Registration for each week will close on Friday at 12:00pm before the start of the session unless the location reaches the maximum capacity before that time.  Please note the following exception - registration for Session 1 will close on Wednesday, May 27 at 12pm - unless the session reaches maximum capacity before that time.  
• One registration contract must be on file for each student that is attending the summer program.  Registration cards are used for informational purposes only.   
• In addition to completing all required registration fields, parents must also select the campus and sessions that your child will be attending. 
• After the application is submitted, notification about acceptance into the program will be sent to the email address on file.  Each application is individually reviewed and approved, and this process can take up to two weeks.
• Register early! Space is limited and we do anticipate that sessions will fill up quickly!  
• Any students that register after campus capacity has been reached will be placed on a wait list and will be contacted when a spot becomes available. We will work to process these registrations as quickly as we can and you will receive a notification when your child has been accepted for the session. 

• There is a $50 registration fee paid once per child for the entire summer, regardless of the number of sessions attending.  
• The $50 registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason and is due at the time of contract approval. 
• Tuition is $200 a week for students in Kindergarten - Grade 5, and $210 for PreK students. Tuition includes all activities and lunch each day. For weeks with less than 5 days, the weekly tuition amount has been adjusted. 
• There is an FBISD employee discount of $20 a week.
• Please note that tuition has increased for the summer 2026 program. Due to the rate of inflation, the increase was necessary to continue to provide quality programs for students.

Payment and Cancellation Information

• Payments can be made online using a credit card or debit card.
• Payment is required at the time of contract approval. Parents should only register for the sessions they are prepared to pay for immediately. Payment will be collected when registration is approved. All tuition and fees must be paid before enrollment is complete. Parents are encouraged to enter a saved payment method in the system to ensure timely payment. This payment method will be charged when the contract is approved.
• After the application is submitted, notification about acceptance into the program will be sent to the email address on file.  Each application is individually reviewed and approved, and this process can take up to two weeks.
• Due to capacity limits and potential waitlists for each session, weekly registrations are non-transferable between sessions or campuses.  
• Requests for refunds or cancellations can be submitted in writing to Extended Learning at extendeddaybilling@fortbendisd.gov.  If a request for refund is made 10 days prior to the start of the session, the tuition will be refunded, less a $20 processing fee. The processing fee is charged per child, per week. All requests must be made in writing to Extended Learning at extendeddaybilling@fortbendisd.gov.

The Academy of Inspiring Minds is a summer enrichment camp that offers students from across the district and community a unique opportunity to explore new talents, develop skills, and expand their knowledge. Through collaboration with dedicated FBISD certified teachers, Extended Learning staff, and Success Zone vendors, we provide an engaging learning environment that combines hands-on learning with fun and interactive experiences in art, crafts, culinary, dance, fine arts, language, sports, STEM, aquatics and more. Our vision at AIM is to inspire educational aspirations, cultivate critical thinking, and promote a lifelong love of learning.

At the end of each week, parents, families, and guardians are invited to attend a showcase where students will share and celebrate their skills, projects, and creations they’ve learned throughout their camp experience.

Hours

AIM offers morning classes from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and afternoon classes from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Students will have the flexibility to enroll for either morning only, afternoon only, or both. Students staying all day will need to pack a lunch and snacks. Before care will be available from 7:30 am to 8:45 am and, after care will be available from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

AIM aquatic class times at Don Cook Natatorium vary, with classes starting as early at 9:00 am and ending as late as 5:30 pm.

Registration is open to all district and non-district families beginning March 9, 2026 at 9:00 am. Registration closes 10 days prior to the start of each session. All tuition and fees must be paid before enrollment is complete. Payments can be made online using a credit or debit card.
