Social Media Rules of Engagment
Fort Bend ISD’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube) are official resources of the District. They are designed to share information, celebrate student and staff achievements, and foster engagement with our community.
Content posted by followers is the responsibility of the individual poster and does not necessarily reflect the views of Fort Bend ISD. To protect the privacy and rights of our students, faculty, staff, and community, Fort Bend ISD reserves the right to monitor and, when necessary, remove content in accordance with the following guidelines:
Grounds for Removal Fort Bend ISD may remove comments or other user-generated content if they are determined to:
- Threats of harm or violence
- Use of obscene or vulgar language
- Use of expletives
- Share personal or private information
- Endorse or oppose political candidates, parties, or ballot measures
- Commercial advertisements
- Constitute spam or repetitive postings
Additionally, FBISD reserves the right to remove content that:
- Endorses actions endangering the health or safety of others.
- Promotes the illegal use of drugs, alcohol, or controlled substances.
- Violates the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of another person.
- Contains defamatory statements.
- Advocates imminent lawless or disruptive action and is likely to incite or produce such action.
- Would result in material and substantial interference with school activities or the rights of others.
- Constitutes spam or repetitive postings.
By participating on Fort Bend ISD’s social media platforms, users agree to these terms. FBISD appreciates constructive dialogue and encourages community members to contribute in ways that support the District’s mission of inspiring and equipping all students to pursue futures beyond what they can imagine.
