STAAR/EOC Testing

House Bill 3261, enacted by the 87th Texas Legislature in 2021, requires state summative assessments to be administered online by the 2022–2023 school year. This transition requires nearly all students to be assessed online, with the exception of students who require accommodation that cannot be provided online. FBISD has supported the transition to online testing by providing students opportunities to experience the STAAR 2.0 question types through various options such as the STAAR Interim Assessments.

STAAR-EOC Tests

Students in grades 3 – 8 will participate in the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exams. Students in each grade will be assessed in Reading Language Arts and Mathematics. Additionally, students in grades 5 and 8 will be given a science exam, and students in grade 8 will be given a social studies exam.

High school students will participate in STAAR EOC exams which include English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and U. S. History. Students enrolled in an EOC course but not attending High School will be required to take the applicable exam.

PAPER TESTS

Parents: If you would like to request a paper version of the STAAR Assessment for the Spring 2026 administration, contact your child’s campus.  The deadline to make the request is December 1, 2025.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
