Engineering Academy Course Requirements
The Engineering Academy provides a rigorous, four-year academic and engineering curriculum designed to prepare students for college and future careers in engineering and related STEM fields. Students are expected to challenge themselves academically while completing the required sequence of engineering, mathematics, science, and computer science courses.
To remain on track in the Academy, students must:
- Complete an advanced Math and Science course (AAC level or above) each year of high school.
- Complete an Engineering Program of Study course each year as part of the Academy curriculum.
- Complete one credit of advanced Computer Science during high school.
- Meet all Academy and district course requirements for graduation and college readiness.

Academy Expectations
- Academy students must be enrolled in the appropriate sequence of academy and academic courses as outlined in the program guidelines at all times.
- Academy students must maintain a 75 or higher in all academy specific courses.
- Academy students must maintain a 70 or higher in all other courses.
- Academy students must complete 12.5 hours of community service each semester for a total of 25 hours per school year as approved by the Academy Coordinator.
- Academy students must participate in at least one enrichment activity per grading period as outlined by the Academy Coordinator.
Course offerings are subject to change in the event that the Texas Education Agency makes changes to approved courses and/or due to low enrollment.
